Mechanical Services Engineering and Mechanical Services O&M Manual | Nuriootpa Primary School Redevelopment, Nuriootpa – SA

Built in 1977, Nuriootpa Primary School caters for R-7 public school students within South Australia’s Barossa Valley. The main school building is unique in design, comprising a circular structure which can house up to 12 classes on the outer edges and a resource centre at its hub. Walls on the exterior support the total structure, leaving the inside open to all classes, enabling staff and students to work together in teams. External buildings are more traditional in structure.

The South Australian Government has invested in the redevelopment of the school. Works include a new covered outdoor learning area, in addition to the expansion and refurbishment of the administration centre and staff facilities and replacement of the expansive aged ceiling and roof, complemented by new air conditioning and ventilation systems to the existing main building.

Dewick and Associates supported the Mechanical Services Contractor in providing airside static calculations for all air conditioning units and fans.  It is important to carry out airside static calculations at the construction stage, based on contractor shop drawings, to ensure that the equipment selected can accommodate the prosed ductwork systems index run pressure drop, to avoid problems at the commissioning stage of the project. Dewick and Associates will provide a Mechanical Services O&M Manual for project handover.
