Building Handover Manuals | Kwanlin Dun First Nation Community Hub, Whitehorse – Yukon

The Kwanlin Dun First Nation Community Hub has been designed to reflect the Kwanlin Dün community, culture and heritage, including the shape of the building which resembles a leaping fish, symbolising the KDFN’s connection to the river, when viewed from above.

The building houses an elder’s lounge, healing room, restorative justice space and specialised facilities for archival storage, providing a welcoming space where the community can share and  celebrate their heritage which can be doubled as commercial areas.  The central fire pit enables year round community gathering.

Dewick & Associates have provided the Building Handover Manuals for the project detailing the architectural and structural elements of the constructions and the Electrical O&M manual which provides specific detail on the power, data and lighting systems installed.
