New Team Member Spotlight: Dane Briffa – Supporting Clients Across SA, NT and WA
Since joining Dewick & Associates three months ago, Dane Briffa has quickly become a valuable part of our Client Coordinator team, supporting projects across South Australia, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia.
Dane brings practical experience from the construction industry, with a hands-on background in electrical and solar systems, including data, power, lighting, security, EV chargers, and system upgrades and maintenance. He’s also worked in product and process development, giving him a strong appreciation for both technical detail and system-wide thinking.
Now in his role with Dewick & Associates, Dane draws on this knowledge daily—helping clients keep projects moving and handovers running smoothly. His attention to detail, collaborative style, and technical understanding have already made him a trusted point of contact for many of our clients in the Central West region.
We recently caught up with Dane to hear more about how he’s settling into the role and what he’s looking forward to.
What drew you to D&A?
After moving from Sydney NSW to Adelaide SA I was seeking a change in scenery. D&A caught my eye with their attention to detail, client focused delivery approach, and pursuit for continuous improvement.
What motivated you to make the move into documentation and client coordination?
In my previous roles I coordinated physical design and delivery of products and services. I found pain points included lack of clear communication between stakeholders, sub-par documentation, and little accountability. This role allows me to work directly with my clients to get them the results they need with minimal headache.
How has your previous on-site experience helped in your current role?
I understand the pressures that come with being on-site. I also understand how much easier implementation and delivery can be if communication is clear and concise. Sometimes you need a lot of details, but simplicity is key, and elaborate when needed.
What have you enjoyed most about the role so far?
I get to work with clients all across SA, NT, and WA from a mix of professional backgrounds. This gives me the opportunity to learn how to tweak our services and my approach to deliver what they need. Whether they are a returning customer, or a new one, I always look forward to finding a solution to their situation.
Any early lessons or insights from your first three months?
Simplicity is very important. Keep things short and concise. Take the time to learn something well, then put it in simple terms when you need to work with others to produce the best end result.
What do you see as the key to a smooth handover process?
Teamwork. Clear and concise communication paired with making small shifts in how you operate to ensure faster turn-around and higher quality for all stakeholders involved makes a big difference.
What’s it like working across such a broad region—from SA through to WA and the NT?
One of the things I enjoy most about this role is the ability to work with such a wide range of clients. Each state has something unique about it and I get to be a part of the work they do to make each state that little bit better.
What’s something outside of work that keeps you energised?
My fiance and our dog. Whether it’s planning our next getaway, or exploring somewhere new, I’m grateful to have them both in my life.
