The downtown skyline in Victoria has been dramatically changed with the construction of ‘The Wedge’ and ‘The Skinny’ which provide much needed housing to the local area whilst revitalizing and developing urban spaces and a sense of community.

The Wedge Apartments, will offer modern, luxury living in a prime downtown location. Located on the original McCall Brothers Funeral home site, the architectural design has been conceived to reflect that of the adjacent existing chapel with increased density on the upper floors.  Spread across 15 storeys, the 93 one to three-bedroom apartments have been provided with common amenities such as a Resident Lounge, workstations, and expansive private outdoor terraces.

Looking to the east, a thirty seven mid rise tower has been constructed, named The Skinny.   The tower marks the second phase of a two-building rental project, with phase one completed in 2018.

Dewick & Associates have provided the Building Handover Manual for the project, which includes comprehensive details about the construction, such as the structure, fabric, glazing, finishes, fixtures, and fittings. Using our online portal, nucleus, Dewick & Associates directly contacted the subcontractors and trades to gather the relevant manufacturers’ literature, certificates, warranties, and drawings that form part of the essential handover documentation. Once received, our in-house Technical Writing Team reviewed and verified the content to ensure its relevance before approving and compiling a complete Building Handover Manual.
