The construction of the new South Australia Ambulance Service (SAAS) Edwardstown Station was funded by the Government of South Australia as part of a $311.2 million investment in healthcare infrastructure to enhance SAAS facilities and services.
The Edwardstown Ambulance Station, situated within the Repat Health Precinct, Daw Park, is a modern facility designed to strengthen emergency healthcare services in Adelaide’s southern region. The station provides essential amenities and accommodates a team of 16 paramedics and 12 Emergency Support Service officers. Key features of the facility include:
- Vehicle Accommodation: A garage designed to house up to four ambulances, two light fleet vehicles, and a carport for additional parking needs.
- Training Areas: Dedicated spaces to support ongoing staff education and skill development.
- Crew Amenities: Fully equipped kitchen and dining spaces, rest areas, and meeting rooms to ensure a comfortable environment for personnel.
- Operational Spaces: Office areas, secure drug storage, locker rooms, and workstations to enhance operational efficiency.
Dewick & Associates supported the construction team in providing technical authoring of a full suite of handover documentation for the project including:
- Building Hanover Manuals
- Mechanical O&M Manuals
- Electrical O&M Manuals
- Hydraulic O&M manuals
- Security O&M Manuals.
The documentation was provided in line with the stringent Department of Infrastructure and Transport SA (DIT) format requirements and DIT Building Project Information Management System (BPIMS) system.
In addition to the technical authoring of the services O&M manuals, D&A collated all certification, warranty and care and maintenance documentation for the associated architectural trades using our online portal, nucleus. This ensures that a complete set of documents is provided at handover, nothing is overlooked, and problems with retentions at the end of the DLP period are avoided.
