Building Handover Manuals | Yitpi Yartapuultiku Cultural Centre, SA – Aus

Opened in 2025, the Yitpi Yartapuultiku Cultural Centre (which means Soul of Port Adelaide in the Kaurna language) is a significant addition to the Port Adelaide community.

More than just a building, this project is the result of a genuine co-design process with local Aboriginal Custodians. Cultural stories, values and practices have been embedded throughout the design, creating a place for learning, connection and celebration. The centre includes indoor and outdoor performance spaces, public amenities, meeting rooms, and landscaped areas—all designed to foster community engagement and cultural exchange. Sustainability was also a key focus, with the project aiming for Green Star certification.

How D&A supported SARAH

In 2023, SARAH was proud to be chosen as the project’s building partner. Dewick & Associates supplied:-

  • Comprehensive Builder’s Manual – Utilised the D&A format for clarity and consistency.
  • Detailed preventative maintenance log sheets for all building elements.
  • Subcontractor Support & Data Management – Utilised D&A Nucleus Portal to collect and manage all subcontractor inputs—certificates, manuals, warranties, manufacturer literature and more.

SARAH Contract Administrator Alfonso Longobardi commented on their experience working with Dewick & Associates. ” They efficiently assisted our team collaboratively in collating, structuring, and integrating relevant documentation to ensure the project handover operation and maintenance manuals were accurate, clear, and easy to use.”

They were responsive, professional, and a great support to Sarah in meeting the project goals and required timelines.

This was more than just a construction project—it was a chance to support a space that will play a vital role in sharing and deepening understanding of Aboriginal culture and history. It was a privilege for our team to contribute to such a meaningful community development. Through clear, accessible documentation, we’re proud to have played a part in ensuring the building performs well into the future, supporting its purpose for generations to come.
