The Lubrizol Corporation produces specialty chemicals for use during the transportation of fluid in the industrial and consumer markets.  The company’s existing training facility, located in Hazelwood, Derbyshire is being upgraded to provide new Conference Centre to provide meeting and training accommodation.  In addition, the site energy centre has been upgraded including the installation of new heating and cooling systems.

The Conference centre has been designed to be as energy efficient as possible incorporating natural ventilation, heat recovery systems and a living roof.  The split level layout, built into the side of a hillside further reduces energy use through the use of the high thermal mass of the ground.

Dewick & Associates have provided the Mechanical and Electrical O&M manuals for the project providing details on the energy efficient systems installed, how to effectively operate them and provide guidance on preventative maintenance requirements.  Dewick & Associates will also provide a Building User Guide (BUG) for the project to ensure that users understand the building design and intended operation including mechanical and electrical services, emergency procedures, local amenities and transport services and record drawings.
