Hydraulic O&M Manuals, Commissioning Plan, As-Installed Drawings | Beaufort Fire Station, VIC – Aus
The new Beaufort Fire Station, on Racecourse Road, will replace the current Flynn Street station, providing a modern facility to support up to 48 CFA volunteers and three appliances. The Beaufort Fire Brigade will benefit from enhanced technology, improved facilities, and an integrated station that consolidates vehicles and equipment in one location. The station is designed to be more accessible, with community meeting rooms and modern amenities, while maintaining the historic significance of the 150-year-old Flynn Street station.
The new station will feature a motor room with three drive-through bays, offices, workshops, operational areas, meeting rooms, and change rooms for both male and female volunteers, as well as unisex ambulant facilities. Externally, it will include a car park and a six-bay storage shed. Built with future sustainability in mind, the station incorporates solar panels, a rainwater recycling system, and provisions for an electric vehicle charging station.
Dewick & Associates’ in-house Technical Writing team authored three key documentation deliverables for the project:
- Hydraulic Commissioning Plan: a comprehensive document that outlines the procedures for testing, verifying, and ensuring that all hydraulic equipment is installed and performing as intended. This plan serves as a critical tool during the commissioning phase, ensuring that the systems meet all operational standards and specifications before being handed over for use.
- Hydraulic O&M Manuals to provide clear, step-by-step guidance for operating and maintaining the fire station’s hydraulic systems including sewer drainage, stormwater, rainwater, hot and cold water systems
- As-Installed Drawings: detailed drawings provide an accurate representation of the system’s layout and are crucial for future maintenance, troubleshooting, and any future system upgrades. Our in-house drafter converted hand marked-up drawings to digital CAD files.
Outsourcing construction documentation to Dewick & Associates allows our clients to concentrate on their core expertise—project management or construction, with the peace of mind that documentation is being authored in the background by a trained, knowledgeable, and reliable team. This simultaneous work practice not only improves efficiency but also provides a more economical solution throughout the project life.
