Building User Guide | 3 Molonglo Drive Base Building and Fitout

The 3 Molonglo Drive project is the latest office building to be constructed at the Brindabella Business Park in ACT and will be the new home of the Department of Home Affairs. The 35,000m² building is spread over five floors designed around a full height 1,200m² atrium with glass backed lifts, stairs and walkways to connect all occupants of the building.

The building boasts a 5 Star Green Star rating and has been modelled to achieve a 5 Star NABERS energy rating, including initiatives such as solar power, generator back up, high levels of natural light, perforated sun screening to the facade, water recycling and end of trip facilities.

The building has been designed and constructed to incorporate an integrated fit-out for the sole tenant, Department of Home Affairs, including 2,000 workspaces and strict security and operational requirements.

Dewick & Associates have provided a Building User Guide (BUG) for the combined Base Building and Integrated Fitout project to comply with Green Star requirements.  The BUG provides the building owner and users details on how to operate the building in an efficient manner including energy targets, descriptions of the building services and their sustainable attributes, initiatives to reduce energy and water usage, local transports information and key contact details.
