Building Handover Manual | Alice Springs Youth Justice Centre – Stage 1, Hugh – NT

The Alice Springs Youth Justice Centre, operated by Territory Families, houses young people sentenced to detention by the Courts. The Northern Territory Government is redeveloping the Centre to better meet the needs of young people, providing practical rehabilitation that enables individuals to better reintegrate into the community on release.

Commencing in July 2020 with an anticipated PC in May 2021, the redevelopment has included new program delivery spaces, new admission and induction areas, new visitor facilities, new office and staff amenities, a new medical and health area, a new sporting field and CCTV monitoring of the perimeter, in addition to the refurbishment of accommodation areas to include updated kitchens, dining and staff supervision areas.

Dewick & Associates provided a comprehensive building handover package for the builder including a building handover manual, mechanical and electrical services O&M manuals, and commissioning plans for the mechanical, medical gas, fuel system, data, security, intercom, audio visual, hydraulic, fire, radio repeater services. Dewick & Associates provided the As-built drawings for the project.
