The Department of Human Services have provided a Remote Service Centre at Groote Eylandt, located off eastern Arnhem Land in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

The custom – built DHS office comprises a Customer Service areas, staff and amenities to provide the community access to the department’s payments and services.

Dewick & Associates have provided full Design and Construct (D&C) Engineering services for the air conditioning and ventilation systems installed within of the building. The remote location has provided design challenges such as varied temperature profiles, dust ingress and building pressurisation and safety. These have all been assessed as part of the design process to ensure a fully functional system at building handover.
