Hydraulic Services O&M Manual | Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital Stage 2, Hornsby – NSW

Located approximately 25kms north-west of Sydney, Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching facility providing a range of inpatient services, such as intensive, orthopaedic, obstetric, paediatric, and emergency care, in addition to outpatient support such as mental health, drug and alcohol, dental, podiatry, and aged care services.

Initiated in 2015, the hospital is currently undergoing a $265m redevelopment due for completion in late 2021. Stage 2 of the works includes refurbishment and expansion of the emergency department and a new multi-storey clinical services building. The redevelopment of the hospital’s ageing infrastructure is designed to provide stakeholders with a facility that meets the community’s future needs.

Stage 2 of the project was proceeded by Stage 1; a $121m project involving the construction of the STAR (surgical, theatres, anaesthetics, and recovery) building. Stage 2A of the current project will include fit-out of rehabilitation inpatient units, refurbishment and expansion of the psychiatric emergency care centre (PECC), and outpatient chemotherapy and renal dialysis care units, in additional to expansion of oral health services and a helipad.

As state government works, successful management and recording of project documentation was paramount and Dewick & Associates drew on its experience to support hydraulic services contractor, Quick Plumbing Group, in creating and uploading the content of the project’s Hydraulic Services O&M Manual to the electronic project portal, WebFM. D&A collected and collated all key information, such as the scope of works, asset register, authority certificates, warranties, and as built drawings, in line with the unique structure of the project management platform.

The WebFM system provides the ability to link assets to associated literature, commissioning results, certificates and drawings, along with system specific maintenance requirements.  D&A has extensive experience in utilising the WebFM system and successfully delivered the O&M Manual to the client’s high satisfaction.
