Adelaide’s newest and tallest building, Frome Central, is located in the premier entertainment and cultural hub of the East End precinct. On completion, the 135m tall, 36-level building, will house 75 premium apartments and the Crown Plaza Adelaide. The Crown Plaza Hotel will include 329 guest rooms from the 3rd to 20th floors of the building and offer more than 450m² of meeting / conferencing space, a Skydeck pool area, restaurant, gym and guest parking facilities.

Dewick & Associates worked with FMS Commercial to provide the heat loads for the apartments and level 36 restaurant area.

To make the most of the spectacular views, the building contains a high percentage of glass. Even though this is well designed and inline with Code requirements, Dewick & Associates checked projected occupant comfort levels and ventilation requirements within the space through dynamic thermal modelling.

The proposed mechanical services systems includes air cooled, reverse cycle split systems to the apartments with ventilation via dedicated systems, discharging via the building façade.
