Fire Services O&M Manuals | Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Fire Alarm System Upgrade
The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), located in Herston, is Queensland’s largest teaching and research hospital. Metro-North Hospital and Health Services provided funding to replace obsolete Fire Alarm and EWIS systems with new code-compliant equipment throughout all ten buildings at the RBWH.
The systems installed ensure a minimum 20-year serviceable life and provide a site-wide solution. Works completed include new Fire Indicator Panels (FIP), smoke and heat detectors, Manual Call Points (MCPs), an Emergency Warning Intercommunication System (EWIS) and Warden Intercom Points (WIPs) to each building as required.
Dewick & Associates provided the Fire Services O&M manuals for the project to Queensland Health requirements, comprising of two parts: Part 1 Maintenance, Part 2 Operating Procedures. Collating information from several sources, Dewick & Associates provided O&M Manuals for each building. Each manual included detailed descriptions of each installation, operations and associated maintenance requirements. The manuals also allowed space for insertion of certificates, testing and commissioning results and As Installed Drawings.
